According to the latest report of the United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) on children and armed conflict for 2018, 24,000 grave violations against children were verified in 20 countries. Almost 2,500 children were abducted by parties of armed conflict often as a precursor to other grave violations, including recruitment and use within armed conflict.
